Sullivan Showcase

Our annual “Celebration of Service” is an opportunity to thank our partner schools and recognize regional impact through their communites and in our alumni.

Each year we host this gala in appreciation of our partner schools, faculty & staff, and award recipients.

We partner with regional host schools to honor individuals in their campus communities, as well as present our life-time achievement award, The Sullivan Luminary Award, to a prior student Sullivan Award recipient.

Each year, we host a regional alumni gathering within a city or at a partner school. We also plan and host smaller alumni gatherings throughout the American South. See upcoming locations and dates below and make plans to attend.

These are great opportunities for connection with other Algernon Sydney Sullivan or Mary Mildred recipients in your community and back on your campus. You will be surprised at the network of servant leaders you may already know!

Sullivan Alumni Weekend

Each fall, we provide an opportunity for our Alumni to engage in our student programming. Our Ignite Retreat, Fellows Summitt & Faculty Forum meet as one, annually at Lake Junaluska, NC and bring more than 300 students and 50 faculty from across our 70+ partner schools to engage in meaningful, dynamic programming that activiates their passion for positive change, community engagement, leadership, social entreprenuership and impact.

We encourage alumni to join this weekend by attending in 1 of 3 ways: Alumni Assembly (open to all past program graduates & award recipients), Ignite Retreat (open to new student recipients) or Faculty Forum (open to alumni who work on a partner school or higher education campus).

Fall 2026 dates are October 9-11, 2026. Registration deadline is September 1st.

Sullivan Alumni Weekend

October 9-11, 2026 | Lake Junaluska, NC

Join us for a weekend in the mountains, as we reconnect with past award recipients, as well as meet and engage with students and past recipients looking to make a positive impact in their communities and around the world. Past recipients & program graduates can engage in the Alumni Weekend in three ways:

1. Alumni Assembly-Open to any Sullivan program graduate or any past award recipients. Connect with past recipients for a service project, social outing and a group wellness experience, while also gaining insights into student leader projects and attending our annual student Fireside Chat. Registration costs=$400 (Includes lodging & meals Friday-Sunday + weekend experiences. Travel to Asheville is not included). *Register using the Alumni Assembly participant ticket type.

2. Ignite Retreat-Any new student recipient has the option to attend the Ignite Retreat as a participant. Engage in a weekend of social impact, entrepuership and meaningful conversation while choosing from our project, problem & personal tracks. Registration costs $575; this includes all meals, lodging and weekend program offerings; does not include travel. Sullivan can cover up to 12 student regsitration fees. Please reach out if you need assistance with registration fees. *Register using Ignite Retreat Participant; please note you’re an alumnus when registering.

3. Faculty Forum-If you’re a past award recipient working at a partner school or higher education campus, you may register as a faculty/staff member for our faculty forum, which includes professional development, networking & faculty gatherings that spark meaningful change in your students. Encouraged to bring students to the Ignite Retreat, but welcome to come explore for yourself. Registration for this option is $575 and includes lodging, meals & programming. *Register using Faculty Forum participant; please note your’e an alumnus.

Facilitator, coach or leadership panel opportunities are available for alumni in the social impact, non-profit, community leadership or like-minded work.

Sponsor opportunities are also available, should you wish to sponsor and bring employees to engage in programming.

Join us for an evening of Celebration, Connection, and Service!

We’re thrilled to honor a century of partnership between The Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation and the University of Kentucky-100 years of recognizing and inspiring lives of integrity, character, and selfless service.

Since 1926, our two organizations have come together to celebrate individuals who embody service above self. As we look toward the next 100 years, we’re inspired by the call to nurture compassionate leaders and changemakers who make a difference in their communities and beyond.

This special weekend will bring together past Sullivan Award recipients, students, alumni, and friends of UK for reflection, reconnection, and service. Note, this is a UK Home Football game weekend, so we encourage you to book your accomondations as soon as possible.

2027 Sullivan Showcase:
100 Years at Rollins College

Saturday, April 3, 2027 | Winter Park, FL | 2:30-4:00 p.m.

Join us as we celebrate 100 years of Algernon Sydney Sullivan Medallions in partnership with Rollins College. This milestone celebration will mark the medallion being presented on Rollins’ campus for 100 years, as well as the strong legacy the Sullivan’s left on the campus.

All past award recipients are invited to attend. We will present our 2026 Luminary Award. Nominations for Luminary awards can be made up until Dec. 1, 2026. Note, this is Rollins’ Alumni Weekend, so we encourage booking our hotel accomodations as soon as possible.

100 Years at The University of Alabama

Friday, April 9, 2027 | Tuscaloosa, AL

Join us as we celebrate 100 years of Algernon Sydney Sullivan Medallions. In partnership with the University of Alabama, this celebration will mark the medallion being presented on Alabama’s campus for 100 years.

All past award recipients are invited to attend. We will be joined by campus leadership and hear from an exciting panel of past Alabama Sullivan recipients. Sullivan President, Steve McDavid, will update guests on the Foundations mission & vision for student proramming at Alabama and beyond. Sullivan Board of Trustee, staff and regional Sullivan alumni from partnering schools will also be invited.
