Are you ready to embark on a transformative journey? Join us for the Sullivan Foundation Ignite Retreat, set to inspire and empower changemakers starting March 22-24, 2024, in the serene backdrop of Black Mountain, North Carolina. This is your chance to discover how to create change and perhaps begin a lifelong journey you’ll love!
In just three days, you’ll experience a whirlwind of growth, gaining clarity, confidence, and forging a community. From bonding around nighttime bonfires to collaborating with peers and project leaders throughout the day, the Ignite Retreat is an opportunity to share, learn, and grow in an immersive environment. Connect with like-minded changemakers from across the American South and find the support and friendship that will fuel your journey and last a lifetime! As Qadira Muhammad, a previous attendee from Mary Baldwin University, reflected, “I walked away from the retreat realizing that if I want to make a change, I can’t wait until after graduation, or even tomorrow. I need to begin right now!”
Whether you’re looking to uncover your calling, tackle a societal problem, or propel an impact project forward, the retreat offers three distinct tracks, each with two insightful workshops:
- Personal Track: Delve into self-discovery, build self-confidence, and explore the mindset of a social/impact entrepreneur. Workshops like “Head, Heart, Hustle” and “Farewell Fear” will guide you to combine your skills and passions into a fulfilling calling.
- Problem Track: For those passionate about specific issues, workshops like “Unlocking Creativity” and “Grow Your Team” will offer new perspectives and ways to rally support for your cause.
- Project Track: Focused on concrete solutions and ventures, this track includes “Chart Your First Steps” and “Pitch & Find the Money” to help map out your project and secure funding for prototypes.
Faculty and Staff Special Track
A dedicated track for faculty and staff runs parallel, focusing on professional development and program enhancement techniques. Connect with peers and learn from trained facilitators to bring more to your campus.
