Building Bridges of Empathy Through Storytelling and Listening

VideoOut, a nonprofit Jordan started in 2016, has recorded more than 400 LGBTQ+ stories around the country. They partner with hyper-local organizations to wield stories as empathic tools for change through community programs. The stories VideoOut records are then turned into traditional Hollywood TV and film pitches. Our stories are not only the most powerful tools for change, but the doorway into the hearts and minds of people all over the world. How to Actually Figure Out the Right Career for You

What if figuring out what to do after college has less to do with getting everything right and more to do with getting things wrong…on purpose?  Instead of spending time and energy researching careers online, hoping to get selected for the right internship, or weighing interests with a career counselor – what if you created mini-experiments for yourself to rapidly experience what different careers might be like?

In this interactive session, you’ll be guided through reflection exercises to clarify your areas of curiosity, then construct a plan for running mini-experiments in the coming months to gain real experience, make real relationships, and uncover real clarity.

You’ll walk away confident in your ability to run unorthodox research experiences, sidestep the rules that trip up everyone else, and take control of your learning.

How to Stop Wasting Time & Focus on What Matters Most

With all the options out there for you to pursue, how do you know which direction is worth your effort? Do you ever wonder if you’re spending your time in the most effective way possible?

Time management is really distraction avoidance. The whole purpose of learning how to manage your time isn’t so you can get everything done – it’s so you can learn to prioritize the right things to do, and eliminate the rest.

In this interactive session, you’ll get clear on what distracts you, reflect on the areas that deserve your attention, and learn strategies to prioritize your day so you can be confident in how you’re spending your energy.

You’ll walk away with a focused roadmap for your most important priorities and strategies to keep your attention trained on what matters most.

How to Tell Your Story & Enlist Others in Your Cause

Most of us hate being asked what we want to do after college. It feels like we’re being sized up by whomever is asking the question and we’re never sure what we’re supposed to say.

Here’s the deal – saying the right thing has never been the issue – it has to do with what you believe about yourself and thinking ahead of time about your skills and interests. If you’re clear on those things, you can talk about who you are and what you want with confidence.

In this interactive session, we’ll talk about the right mindsets you need to have to tell your story and cover strategies to reflect on your life and future path to help you communicate with clarity and confidence.

You’ll walk away having put a framework to practice and ready to talk about yourself in a meaningful and humble way.

How to Prioritize Your Mental Health to Create Real Impact

We all want to do great things, make a difference in our communities, and create real impact in the world.

This focus on helping others, our communities and the planet often leads to us de-prioritizing ourselves. We often forget to “put our own oxygen masks on first”.

It this interactive session you will recognize what you are currently doing well to support your mental health and well-being, identify some early warning signs that indicate you might be falling into some bad habits and become more aware of your personal support networks.

You’ll walk away with your own personalized well-being canvas which you can use to hold yourself accountable and build habits that stick.

How to Network & Get Mentors in a Virtual World

We all understand the power of networking and mentorship at a concept, but few of us put in the work of understanding what we want out of life, identifying those who we want to learn from, and being intentional about creating a relationship with them.

Most of us are confused about how to network and receive guidance in a virtual world, but it’s not complicated. Join us for an interactive session that will help you reflect on the areas you need to grow to help identify the right mentor for you and work through a formula for approaching and building relationships with potential mentors.

You’ll walk away with new strategies to build relationships, a short list of people you want to learn from, and a plan to have more meaningful professional interactions moving forward
