Why Following Your Passion is a Bad Idea, and What To Do Instead

How many times have well-meaning adults told you to “follow your passions”? What does that even mean?

If you’re like most of us, you tried to follow a few passions, but then lost motivation, perhaps felt discouraged, and found yourself back where you started – with no clear direction.

Join us for an interactive discussion exploring why participating in activities that reveal progress is far more important than pursuing your passions.

You’ll learn tactics you can use to get clarity on your future by tracking your knowledge and skills instead of your passions.

Whether it’s health choices, mindsets or financial decisions, our habits shape our lives and our perspectives.

One way of creating lasting change in our communities is by guiding others to adopt better habits. 10 Small Ways to Create a More Sustainable Campus

We all want to be part of big movements, but lasting change is most often something slow and small we barely notice.

When it comes to being environmentally conscious and establishing sustainable practices on our campuses, we can make more of a difference than we think – and we don’t need to convert the entire campus to solar in the process.

Join us for a thought-provoking session with an environmental changemaker who will leave you with ideas about how you can make small – yet crucial – changes to help your campus be more sustainable.

How to Tell Your Story & Enlist Others in Your Cause

Most of us hate being asked what we want to do after college. It feels like we’re being sized up by whomever is asking the question and we’re never sure what we’re supposed to say.

Here’s the deal – saying the right thing has never been the issue – it has to do with what you believe about yourself and thinking ahead of time about your skills and interests. If you’re clear on those things, you can talk about who you are and what you want with confidence.

In this interactive session, we’ll talk about the right mindsets you need to have to tell your story and cover strategies to reflect on your life and future path to help you communicate with clarity and confidence.

You’ll walk away having put a framework to practice and ready to talk about yourself in a meaningful and humble way.

How to Prioritize Your Mental Health to Create Real Impact

We all want to do great things, make a difference in our communities, and create real impact in the world.

This focus on helping others, our communities and the planet often leads to us de-prioritizing ourselves. We often forget to “put our own oxygen masks on first”.

It this interactive session you will recognize what you are currently doing well to support your mental health and well-being, identify some early warning signs that indicate you might be falling into some bad habits and become more aware of your personal support networks.

You’ll walk away with your own personalized well-being canvas which you can use to hold yourself accountable and build habits that stick.
